OK, this isn’t what I normally write about, but I had a discussion with another straight person who got totally hung up on the word ‘Pride’ in Gay Pride. The reason it trips people up is because they think, “Why should only gay people be proud? Aren’t I proud? I don’t parade around my pride. Why should gays have a monopoly on pride?”
To which I answer… (Read the article)
They must have paid there bail money because Kurt and I walked right by a “free bible” stand before we entered the park. They were setup in the outdoor common area of MCTC.
The Pride Festival kicked off in Loring Park Saturday. There were live bands, food and thousands of people. It’s now the third-largest gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender celebration in the country.
You should read this article first. It will give you a better picture of the story.

Hey All. So you all remember musclecub and friend to B*Talk Geoff from WCG Ultimate Gamer? Well it turns out that his amazingly beautiful girlfriend Anna (who is also a friend of B*Talk) is going to be a contestant in the Miss Oregon contest coming up.
Anna has been very cool about letting us ogle her boyfriend, but more importantly she has been active and interested in the goals of the Miss America competition which is community service and bettering education. In fact as part of the process Anna is raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network.
If the mood strikes you I encourage you to support Anna and the Miss America competition. And let’s all root for Anna next week when she competes for Miss Oregon! Here are some helpful links:

One of the only reasons I agreed to leave Indiana and start a new life in Minneapolis was the lush and abundant Theater scene. The Twin Cities is nationally known to have some of the best regional theater companies in the US. Sure the Guthrie is fantastic but it’s the amount of small companies that truly puts the Cities over the edge.
Yeah, yeah, yeah I know…”Waylon, you’re full of shit! A city is defined by GOOD Theater”. Blah, blah, blah, blah. I get a little tired of this argument. We need the good, the bad and utterly horrendous! Art is about taking risks and being unapologetic about it. Theater (and all art) is a craft that must be practiced and risks must be taken even if that means the artist falls flat on their face.
If you like taking entertainment risks that also help directly support the artist; I would strongly suggest the Minnesota Fringe Festival.
This is just brilliant! Thank you Brian and Thomas for the heads-up.

Each one is better than the last. My personal fav so far is #4 tho. Katie Couric singing about her garden…the best!

Billy Mays, the burly, bearded television pitchman whose boisterous hawking of products such as Orange Glo and OxiClean made him a pop-culture icon, has died. He was 50.

In light of the death of Michael Jackson, I found this mashup by Pheugoo. Strangely, this really work as a tribute. Viva la Vida loosely translated means Live the Life. Michael Jackson didn’t always live his life in a way that made sense to the rest of us, but he did live the life.
